Something New
Somehow I stumbled on Virtual Sketch Date and this is my first contribution. I'm sure I found out about it from someone at EDM but I'm sorry I don't remember who. Thank you whoever it was. I really enjoyed doing this.
The reference photo is a beautiful image from Sherrie Roberts. Thank you for letting us use it!

This is lovely. You really captured that 'frothy, lacy' look!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - it has great colors!
ReplyDeleteI love how your colors turned out. Glad you joined and hope to see you do more of them.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara. this flower is really good! I like the way it seems to do away with line entirely, producing a very emotional piece. Nice. All your stuff does a good job with form. Since I always voice suggestions, I would consider doing away with line entirely. Like, I'd love to see the effect produced in another piece I like, the piano, by not having any line. It will be fuzzy for sure but I'll bet it would be extra exciting. (I keep telling myself I'll try the same, but I never do!)

You are the first that I have seen put in the little flowers. I almost thought that would be the focal point for everyone. It is so gorgeous. I just cannot believe all the differences.
ReplyDeleteJust a knock out!
Thank-you for participating in the August sketch day!

Lovely piece of work. Is it watercolour. I am assuming so.
ReplyDeleteI really like the looseness of this and how you focused on the blues and purples for the color. This piece has a really nice feel to it.
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin' this. Your style varies yet I really enjoy 'your style' whichever mode you're in. Note to self: come back often.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara. Beautiful watercolor, remarkable restraint in keeping the white of the paper...that is the hardest part for me.
