Busy and Distracted

It's been a busy and eventful couple of weeks. I did make the time to go to our monthly sketch group. These sketches show I was more than a little distracted! The first one I sketched there but added the color later using the color code on the left. The second one, well, what can I say other than Koi don't hold still.

My plans for posting more this year seem to have fallen by the wayside but I haven't given up on them. I am still committed to it.

  1. Happily I was there as well! I think that koi looks beautiful. I remember it - it wouldn't stay still for a second! Try to do a portrait of a moving target... I think I am mixing metaphors here, but you got the likeness, I assure you :).

  2. So glad to see you back. I like both of your latest postings! Don't get discouraged... just find a few minutes in your day to do some bit of art ... no matter how small.

  4. I like them both - that's a good system you have - putting down color keys for later guidance. I must remember that!

  5. I just think you have the most wonderful page spreads in your books. I'd love to sit and browse through them--they're beautiful. Love these!

  6. I saw this a week ago, but April has been so crazy for me I didn't have time to comment. The Koi painting is beautiful - they look like Koi to me, movement or no movement. - and I love the water and the rock. Hope you have a less hectic May (and me too).
