Sailing O'er the Bounty Main

Going away for three weeks in November wreaks havoc on Christmas planning and organization. I do plan to post my sketches from the trip eventually but today I had to post these randoms sketches from days at sea.

The first one is the view looking down, the second is Stromboli, and the third group are sketches from the solarium done on a day at sea.

According to the news today, The Brilliance of the Seas, the ship we were on last month, was caught in a huge storm in the Mediterranean. It's hard to imagine a ship of that size being tossed around like a toy boat but it was. We had a smooth ride the entire time and the crew was fabulous. I hope all is well on board.

  1. I love love love these- the colors are wonderful - you can just smell the sea air.

  2. Wonderful seascapes... I'm a lover of the ocean and spend a lot of time trying to capture it on paper. Merry Christmas... and Happy new year.

  3. It sounds like an awesome trip and I look forward to seeing more of your inspiring sketches! These are wonderful!

  4. Barbara - don't know how else to contact you. I'm in Evanston, and really interested in joining the urban sketchers. Can you tell me if there's a Chicago group? perchance an Evanston group? (right!)

    Pls email me

  5. I'll be back in the "real world" after today when the last of the company leaves. Thank you all for you comments! More vacation sketches to come!
Nina, I would love to contact you about our group but I don't have an email address for you. Please contact me at "info at" and I'll be more than happy to send you the information!
