In the spring we were in California for a wedding. We drove from Malibu, the site of the wedding, to San Francisco to visit family. We made many stops along the way to enjoy the sights.
While I was doing a little computer file maintenance I came across these sketches that I never posted. They're not all winners but the sights and the trip were!

The Page Museum, a.k.a. La Brea Tar Pits -The bird skeletons intrigued me, so elegant in a strange way |

This looks like fall but it was spring and these were the colors I saw. |

Vermeer is one of my favorites. I was delighted to catch this exhibit. Like I said not every page is a winner! |
Yes, they are! These are delightful.
ReplyDeleteOh what a fun trip this must have been... I do love the bird bones, was it really big like emu size or normal bird size.

ReplyDeleteIt was a fun trip. Thank you for your kind words!
ReplyDeleteElaine, the bird skeleton was bigger than a pelican.
Barbara, I just came across the wonderful watercolor you did of Pope Francis as I was scanning my wife's Facebook page. I immediately had to look you up so I could comment. I love your work! I too am a watercolorist, but I don't hold a candle to your spontaneity. I am so in awe of your style. We often visit Chicago to be with our grandbabies. I would love to meet you someday. You are my hero! Google me if you've any interest in seeing any of my meager work.
ReplyDeleteDon, don't be so harsh on your work! It's beautiful.
