The EDM challenge #180 is draw something that's your favorite color. Green certainly seems to my favorite color on these pages. Tomorrow it will probably go back to red.
Act II, a group from Holy Name Cathedral for those of us in life's second half, has started a sketching group that will meet at various locations in Chicago. We've met twice and have decided to make it a weekly event. Monday will be the day. It will work out for me even though it's during the day since my work schedule is pretty flexible. Sightseeing and sketching, it will be fun to view the town with new eyes and new friends. These pages are from Lincoln Park.
It's nice how the later glued-on info covers my not so successful attempts! The sketches are done in a new Hand•Book sketchbook that I bought at Dick Blick's. I like the paper weight and texture better than a moleskine.

Barbara, I am truly in love with your art. It has a deeply satisfying purity to it, in line and colour.
ReplyDeleteAnd you make green look so easy!
More, more, more, please!
Beautiful pages and very elegant drawings. I do love your work!

ReplyDeleteVery beautiful pages! Love those clean lines, splendid colors and neat composition!
ReplyDeleteThese drawings are simply gorgeous! I love your boldness with the very dark colors.
ReplyDeleteWonderful artwork. Wish I could join your drawing group, I am in Vancouver Canada, should try to start one,eh? I'll be back.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful journal spread. Wonderfully designed and a great use of a color. You seem to be having better luck than I am with the Hand•Book brand—I just started a square one as a drawing journal. I'm struggling with the weight of the paper and I'm not getting the bright colors I like with my watercolors.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog—Jennifer
I concur...this page (and alot of your other work!) is beautifully done. The green is particularly appealing.
