I come from a long line of very strong women. As the saying goes-

Today would have been my mother's eighty-fifth birthday. This is a sketch I did of her in 1997. Happy Birthday, Mother. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteA wonderful tribute to your mom! Yes, I see the resemblance, mostly in the eyes, specifically the eyebrows and the bridge of the nose. Definitely there. I too like how you focused on a portion of her face - it gives me the feeling of a memory rather than just another "portrait." Nice.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful drawing. My mother has been gone over 20 years but I still miss her. Maybe someday I can do as nice a sketch of my mom as you did of yours.
