Noting November

It's been a busy November so these sketches are scribbled in various books-what ever was handy when I picked up the pencil. They trace my wanderings from the Chicago History Museum with the Monday sketch group to the Art Institute's Terzo Piano for a delicious brunch to St. Lad's parking lot late in the afternoon to vegetating in front of the T/V. and a lot of Starbucks along the way! They are the "pause that refreshes"! (The sketching -more than the coffee.)

  1. Barbara, these are wonderful! I especially like the second one. Is that your husband? He looks so relaxed, I am envious. I also like the silhouette of a church, looming and a little sinister. And I like the cat... Come to think of it, Like them all! :) I miss the sketching group!

  2. I agree--these are marvelous! I love how you readily pick out the big shapes and make it look so easy to do so. The cat is wonderful! So loose and you so captured it with such minimal line.

  4. I could have sworn that I left a comment on this already! I simply came back to say that I can't believe it's only ben 12 days since your last post; it seems much longer. Which means, of course, that I look forward to your updates!

Thank you for choosing me on the art exchange. I stressed a little, but I really think it was good for me!

Great sketches. I love how you've captured the cat in a few hurried lines!

  6. Great collection of sketches, Barbara - They are all so different and I really like that. You've done an awful lot for someone so busy.
