A Trio of Pears
VIrtual sketch date had a photo of very interesting pears as the subject this month. The image was from Belinda Lindhardt . Thanks Belinda!
One of these days I'll learn to deal with the background. I think if I use a bigger brush it would help. I still enjoyed doing this watercolor. It was challenging to work with these colors.

I love the luminosity you have achieved. A very stricking watercolour. (Great blog title too!)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteNice work, Barbara--I like the limited palette and the light is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis looks nice even without a background. Good forms and color. I do find that using a bigger brush is better with watercolor. I used to think big brushes would be tough to control, but now I rarely return to my small brushes.
ReplyDeleteThese are great, but I'm still back on the sketch of Mizrahi. Very cool! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! So subdued. Sometimes projects need the simplicity of what they really are. So I don't think you needed a background in this. It's clean and classy.
ReplyDeleteI like your juicy, chunky pears, and agree that the limited palette is very effective.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, this does work well, it's very bright and light. Well done.
ReplyDeleteReally nice watercolor of the pears Barbara...enjoyed all your blog as well. Happy drawing!
ReplyDeleteVery subtle and lovely. Backround is always an issue, isn't though.

ReplyDeleteVery nice, simple, clean watercolor - which is a great feat!
ReplyDeleteYour pears look ripe and ready to eat.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, Barbara!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for stopping by and for your kind comments. I appreciate them so much.
ReplyDeleteVery good job. Nice and bright. Doesn't show that you had any trouble at all.
ReplyDeletePersonally I like the white space left. Lovely work!
