Monday, Monday
Monday's sketch group met at the Art Institute of Chicago. It was a beautiful afternoon and we sketched in the south pocket park. There is a great fountain there and inspired by all of Laurelines' wonderful fountain sketches, I gave it a try!
I'm so disappointed! I've been enthralled with reportage drawing lately and it looks like my reportage sketch class will be cancelled. Not enough people signed up. I was really looking forward to it. Oh bla dee. Anyone out there have any good tips?

Great pages...lovely fountai. sorry about the reportage group - maybe advertise a bit wider? Hope it can work out, even if it takes a bit longer to organize..

Thanks Ronell. The class was being given at the Chicago Botanical Gardens. I don't know how they promoted it. I just hope they'll offer it again!
ReplyDeleteI really love these pages, Barbara - the layout and your unique drawing style.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow--this is absolutely scrumptious! So lovely!!
ReplyDeleteSo beautifully done. I'd never heard of reportage drawing before - I checked a couple of sites. Not sure I get it. Is any drawing on location reportage drawing?
ReplyDeleteThank you all.
ReplyDeleteDan, I think that is pretty much what it is but I sense there is a little nuance. That's one of the reasons I wanted to take the class!
Wonderful journal spread, Barbara. Your fountain is very cool!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you abstracted the fountain and the tree, too--these are beautiful.
